Your computer's operating systems, software applications, documents
and musics and videos are all stored on your hard drive. Naturally,
you want to have plenty extra space on your hard drive so you can
create more documents, download more musics from iTune and store
pictures from your digital camera. Your operating system also uses
the hard drive as a virtual memory space so you never have to experience
the dreaded "Out of Memory" message. As a general rule of thumb,
you don't want your hard drive's free space to drop below 15% of
its capacity. Windows's performance drops significantly when hard
drive's free space is lower than 15%.
When upgrading hard drive, there are two options. Many computers
can support more than one hard drive, so you can simply add a second
hard drive to your system. But if your PC can not support a second
drive or you have a laptop, then you need to replace your old hard
drive with the new hard drive and it involves backing up your data
from the old hard drive and transfering the data to the new drive.
Hard drive price is dropping these days, with price dropping to
around 40 cents per GB. It's one of the most bang for the buck upgrade
you can perform on your PC.
When we upgrade your hard drive, we'll first backup your data, then we'll install the new drive and transfer the data
onto the new drive.
We'll also perform a complimentary security inspection of your system.
