Which version of Windows should you upgrade to? J&J Computer
Service recommend Windows XP if your PC's hardware can support it.
Windows XP is by far the most stable and feature rich operating
system Microsoft has ever produced. To see the many features of
Windows XP, click here.
Even though Microsoft's minimum
system requirement for Windows XP is fairly low, we recommend
a much higher system requirement for upgrading to Windows XP. The
reason behind our higher recommendation is we don't want to see
your system run sluggishly with Windows XP. Your system should have
the following if you're considering upgrade to Windows XP:
- Pentium III 500MHz or faster processor
- At least 256MB of RAM
- Video and monitor that supports 800x600 resolution
or higher
- CD-ROM or DVD-ROM
- 10GB or more of free hard drive space.
If your system does not meet the above requirement, talk to us
about upgrading it so that you can run Windows XP smoothly. In many
cases, a simple memory upgrade
is all you need, or you may want us to put a bigger
hard drive so you can store a bigger playlist for Windows XP's
new Windows Media Player.
Even though it is not necessary to have a network connection to
run Windows XP. We highly recommend it so you can update your Windows
XP system with the latest security patches.
